Honestly, I have so much fun, adrenaline and discovery with this Quadcopter. As long as you’re sensible, its virtually impossible to crash. Remember to: calibrate the compass, use GPS mode if in trouble or lost, keep away from trees and don’t be a nuisance. Not only has this been fun to fly but it’s also got me map reading to find public footpaths in the middle of nowhere to fly it. I’ve discovered some new places in the countryside not far from where I live. Its great to get out and get fresh air.
It’s amazing to have so much technology for just £180. So glad I went for the advanced controller. I’ve flown it to 1800m (over a mile) away from me and back again over the washes above Earith in the Cambridgshire fens. Utterly thrilling. This was without any modifications and with just the standard antennas as supplied.
Good apps for your phone are ‘Drone Assist’ (free) from NATS. This has a map of the UK and tells you where it and is not safe to fly your drone. For instance, it shows the danger areas around airports for example and ground hazards. Also use a good weather app for wind forecast. I use the Met Office app (also free). It shows wind speed and direction and also the speed of gusts. Not usually a good idea to fly if gusts are more that 15mph. I also use the OS Maps app with the Explorer maps (the orange ones) for my area downloaded to my phone. The app is free but you have to either buy maps for the download code or pay an annual subscription. When the app is working properly, it’s worth the money. A paper map is usually good to take with you too to find the public footpaths.
I record all my flights and relive the experience when I get home. The recording is HD so on play back, you get to see some ground feature you may not have made out on the controller screen while you were flying.
I bought two spare rechargeable batteries for the quadcopter. With three drone batteries, that will keep you out there for at least an hour. The battery in the controller lasts the full hour easy – I don’t have or need a spare for this.
When you return home, it takes about 2 to 3 hours to recharge each drone battery.
The only disappointing thing is that the dark nights are drawing in and I can no longer go flying with ‘Kes’ after work.

j’avais déja commandé le husan h501s advanced a ce vendeur, il est arrivé sans les batteries et le joystick de la manette cassé, je l’ai donc renvoyé et je lui en ai recommandé un. Cette fois tout les accessoires sont la boite mais le drone est incontrolable meme en mode GPS il décolle et part complétement à droite et aucun réglage n’est possible (certains paramètre sont meme inccessible. Un conseil ne commander surtout pas à ce vendeur

I got this about 3 weeks ago and have clocked up about 2 or 3 hours flying time. It’s my first drone and MY GOD IT’S SO MUCH FUN!
Flying around my (biggish) backyard I’ve needed multiple replacement propellers after crashing into trees, walls, bird-bath etc. At ~£6 a pop I’m just clocking that up to learning experience.
It’s just amazing technology – the GPS and gyros / sensors on-board means on a still day with no wind, it will basically just hover wherever you left it. The “return to home” switch has been useful – I’ve had it fly to at least 300m away and basically lost sight of it. Push “up” to make sure it’s clear of trees etc and tell it to come home and a minute or two later … here it comes home (well to directly above you).
The “Follow me” function could be interesting. It doesn’t appear to be able to keep the camera pointing at you, but if you aim it, then, for example, ride your bike away holding the controller it will maintain whatever distance between you when it was set.
(Mandatory caveat: “In an unpopulated area away from any airport”) I’ve had the thing fly to a height of 250m.
As I’m getting the hang of the controls over time – just flying around the yard or down at the playing fields, I can begin to get a feel for it and be able to naturally zoom along and turn left/right or do u-turns around a pole. I’m thinking of looking up a drone club now to see if they do racing or anything like that.
The camera is “only” 1080p but still produces decent video. It’s fixed looking forward which sometimes means you need to fly the drone forward, tilting it forward, to see what you want to see below you. A drone with a controllable camera is a lot more expensive.
IMPORTANT: If you get a MicroSD card it only handles a 32Gb MAX size. I wish that was more prominently stated somewhere as a new 128Gb card I bought is now looking for a purpose.
It’s a big-boy’s toy, but some really cool technology – with satellite / GPS lock on of the controller and drone so each knows where the other is (and it displays the drone’s distance and altitude on screen). It needs calibrating of the internal compass every time you put a fresh battery in – this is perhaps the only gripe I’ve got, but only takes a few seconds and is understandable considering how accurate it needs to be.
So much fun. Really happy with this purchase.

This drone WAS a lot of fun and quite impressive for the money. But a week or two ago it lost connection with the controller and simply flew away over the suburbs never to be seen again. That’s a lot of money to watch flying away.
I will admit that this drone had had a number of crashes during it’s brief 3 month life so maybe I’d done some damage.
TAKEAWAY: Drones like this are sensitive and expensive so don’t expect to treat it badly and not have it cost you money.

Pour tous ceux qui veulent commencé à voler avec un drone je le conseille vous pouvez l’acheter sans hésiter ce drone est fantastique il rassure grâce à la fonction GPS qui le rend très stable en cas de panique il y a le fameux bouton retour home la vidéo et les photos sont super à acheter les yeux fermés

This is my first ‘proper’ drone and I got off to a pretty inauspicious start. Eager to take to the air, I forgot to notice that it was set to ‘expert’ mode (or whatever it is) with super-sensitive controls. It took off at a rate that NASA would have been proud of and headed west (I’d given it some right stick too). In no time it was out of sight leaving me in the back garden in a state of panic about it crash landing into a greenhouse or something. After about five minutes, just as I was thinking about what to tell the wife and how to organise a search, a faint sound like a distant swarm of bees could be heard. It grew louder. Eventually it could be seen again, heading for home. The automatic Return to Home mode had worked a treat. Unfortunately it didn’t negotiate our trees all that well and crashed landed onto the shed roof following a brief argument with a eucalyptus tree. The tree won.
No lasting damage though. One replacement propellor and battery charge later (and I used the battery charge time to do what I should have done in the first place – read the manual CAREFULLY) I was ready again.
It’s had near-constant use over the bank holiday weekend. This drone is a LOT of fun. It’s very stable, very manoeuvrable and it takes really good video and still shots. On that note let me tell prospective purchasers something that the manual isn’t clear about – the memory card situation. This drone requires a mini SD memory card of no more than 32GB. I originally purchased a ‘big’ memory card with 128GB capacity and realised that was a waste of money as soon as I looked at the drone (the manual doesn’t state that it needs a mini memory card by the way). I then dashed off to buy a 64GB mini card and spent two hours wondering why it wouldn’t capture anything. After another 30 minutes internet searching I finally came to a forum post confirming that 32GB is as much as this drone will accept. I bought a 16GB card and it’s been hunky dory ever since.
I couldn’t recommend this drone highly enough. Absolutely perfect for my requirements – fun to fly and great for capturing photo and video moments. Robust too – as illustrated by my first ‘flight’.
I’m now looking forward to the arrival of the spare batteries so that I can increase the available flying time – which on the supplied battery is about 20 mins.

Bon rapport qualité/prix. Certains drônes coûtant 3 à 4 fois plus chers ne sont pas aussi performants. le seul regret est qu’une fonction anti-obstacles ne soit pas implémentée. Mais pour le prix, il est normal qu’une telle fonction ne soit pas présente. Le drône se manie bien et est TRES stable (GPS oblige). La télécommande est de bonne qualité et semble assez résistante pour être manipulée sans devoir prendre d’extrêmes précautions. La résolution de la caméra est sans surprise (1080p) et largement suffisante pour être exploité sur une TV ou un écran de PC. Pour les personnes qui voudraient découvrir le monde des drônes, c’est un bon achat de part un prix très raisonnable et de bonnes fonctionnalités.

bonjour, c’est mon premier drone GPS et la prise en main est immédiate. Le mode GPS offre une stabilité exemplaire, même avec du vent modéré. La télécommande est géniale et offre une super prise en main. le retour de la caméra est un vrai plus.
en mode hors GPS : je ne l’ai pas encore vraiment testé sans le mode GPS mais on sent un drone beaucoup plus réactif et qui semble sans inertie. il ne compense pas. ce que je veux dire c’est qu’avec les petits drones qu’on trouve (e58 par exemple), lorsqu’on arrête d’avancer le drone style e58 compense de suite pour s’arrêter. le X4 continue sa route et c’est à l’utilisateur de le ralentir. en retrouve les bases du pilotage ce qui peut être déroutant.
mais il suffit d’activer le bouton GPS pour qu’il soit instantanément différent et compense du fait de la stabilité avec une position GPS.
je n’ai pas encore osé l’envoyer à plus de 100m de peur de le perdre, à cette distance il faut déjà conduire avec le retour écran, trop loin pour savoir ou est l’avant/arrière. mais pas de panique, le bouton home fait revenir le X4 à vos pieds histoire de reprendre le contrôle.
c’est mon premier drone un peu évolué et je le recommande chaudement, avec deux modes (avec ou sans GPS) faisant deux utilisations très différentes selon les envies.
pour finir il est très silencieux et la pile fournit dure une vingtaine de minutes.

Mon premier appareil avec gps ! Quel changement ! je suis surpris par la qualité de vol malgré un premier essais dans un léger/moyen vent ! Ce dernier est suffisamment lourd et réactif pour encaisser de petites rafales de vent. Les fonctions Return to home / mode suivis /headless fonctionnent très bien à ma grande surprise. L’autonomie avec les 2 gps allumés est d’environs 20 min ce qui est encore un point positif. La commande à distance est vraiment robuste et pratique (version pro). 2 petits reproches a faire qd même : L’angle de la camera est fixe et pas tjs pratique pour la prise d’images et l’absence totale de stabilisation d’image. Pour conclure, voici un très bon appareil derniers cris. Dans un excellent rapport qualité/prix.

The drone came today two weeks early , thank you JZY ,it’s the up rated 501 s-s version and what a fantastic piece of kit it is ,nice quality plastics and looks really well made .So why did I pick this one?, well after checking out various drones on U tube I decided that this was the best sub £300 drone about , it had just about all the features I needed and there were lots off add ons , like landing gear and up rated antennas available on Amazon .update…been flying the drone for a week or so and it’s brilliant , one thing I have discovered though , you must be on level ground to plug the battery in as it initialises everything . You can then do the hubsan dance to initialise the compass after that it flies as steady as a rock , so easy a five year old could fly the thing in gps and headless modes .

J’ai acheter ce drone qui dès le premier lancement de moteur a rencontré un problème. Un moteur tourne en faisait un bruit de disqueuse… Suite à cela j’ai analysé l’article et trouvé des traces d’usures sur la télécommande donc renvoyé.
J’ai un ami qui pensait que c’était un coup de pas de chance qui à acheter le même mais en blanc. la télécommande a mis 45 minutes à trouver assez de satellite pour de décoller alors que le drone en avait 12 depuis le début. Une fois en vole le dorne ne se stabilisé pas (alors que reglé le compass et tout ce qu’il faut grâce a youtube car pas indiqué dans la notice…) mais malgré tous drone qui va dans tous les sens en stationnaire et qui vole en crabe (de travers).
Donc deuxième drone renvoyé.
Fuyez vous éviterez de perdre du temps et de faire des retours.
